Protein is made up of different elements including nitrogen, and when there’s excess nitrogen in your blood it eventually becomes urea and is excreted in urine…but nitrogen doesn’t enter the metabolic pathway, so it contributes no calories whatsoever.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In other words, you don’t excrete any calories from protein. &lt;p&gt;If you consume MORE calories than the calories you either BURN from physical activity or is used to fuel normal body processes (daily activity such as just going to work or school, energy for digestion and brain activity), then yes those are considered excess calories. UNLESS they are carb calories which will be stored as glycogen, but the liver/muscles can&amp;#8217;t hold that much glycogen for long, and once it&amp;#8217;s had enough, those carb calories WILL be stored as fat. THAT is excess.&lt;/p&gt;

If I’m wrong I will admit that I am wrong, I’ve done so before when I first started this blog and wasn’t as far along in my nutrition education, but if someone is trying to tell me how to run my blog then yes, I will get defensive, like right now.&lt;/p&gt;
